South Korea Imposed Zero Tariffs On Imported Masks For A Limited Time

On the 17th, the ministry of planning and finance of the South Korea voted at the State Council the amend “ Provisions on the application of tariff quotas” and decided to suspend tariffs on imported face masks and the core raw materials of face masks.
According to the amendment, the government reduced the duty on meidical masks from 10% on the day to zero, and the duty on melt-blown fabric, the core material for production of masks, from 8% to zero. The zero-tariff measures will come into effect from the 18th of this month until the 30th of June.
