Recently, CUSTOMCELLS®, a leading supplier of lithium ion batteries in the industry, conducted an analysis and validation of Licity® performance against market standards. The results showed that the Licity® waterborne negative adhesive product passed electrochemical, mechanical and machining tests, and some of its performance was better than the market standard.

Basf's battery adhesive products passed benchmark tests against market standards, with some results better than market standards. This is the result of a recent in-depth benchmark analysis conducted for BASF Europe by CUSTOMCELLS®, a supplier of lithium ion technology.

This analysis tested the Licity® waterborne negative adhesive (styrene butadiene emulsion adhesive) product in the fields of machining performance, mechanical properties and electrochemical performance. The analysis results show that:
All Licity® adhesives exhibit excellent processability, enabling faster slurry preparation and improved coating uniformity of the anode active material;
The mechanical properties of Licity® 2668 and Licity® 2680 were compared with those of commercially available general styrene-butadiene emulsion.
Licity® adhesives exhibit excellent electrochemical properties, resulting in excellent cycle stability and rate performance for silicon-containing negative electrodes (SiOx).
