CCTV Reported Ban On Plastic, Do You Understand The Road To Environmental Protection Of Plastic Industry?

Recently, the News Broadcast reported that the "ban on plastic bags" promotes the development of green environmental protection industry, optimize industrial transformation and upgrading, further improve the industrial chain, and strive to build a cluster of biodegradable materials industry.

Under certain environmental conditions, degradable materials can be degraded into carbon dioxide, water and other substances after a period of time. Compared with common plastic products, fully biodegradable materials will not cause pollution to the environment.

In the rapid development of the industry, the plastic industry is trying to practice the concept of ecological protection, and through practical actions to achieve the goal of sustainable development. Data show that plastic recycling refers to the recycling enterprises through garbage classification, direct collection of industrial waste and other ways to obtain discarded plastics, and the use of a variety of recycling processes will be recycled into plastic, plastic and other products recycling process. According to incomplete statistics from the Plastic Processing Industry Association, about 30 million tons of waste plastics are recycled every year, accounting for more than 30 percent of plastic consumption.

There are many types of recyclable plastics, including PET, HDPE, PVC, LDPE, PP, PS and so on, mainly from waste home appliance shells, children's toys, plastic pipes, plastic films and part of waste medical plastics.

During the 12 years since the implementation of the "plastic limit" in 2008, the total number of recyclable plastic-related enterprises registered in China has increased from 40,000 to 190,000 based on industrial and commercial registration. It is worth noting that the annual registered growth rate of relevant enterprises reached 17% in 2016, and the growth rate remained above 18% in the following four years. Up to now, more than 30,000 enterprises related to recyclable plastics have been added, with a year-on-year growth of more than 21%.

Single-use plastic straws are now banned in restaurants nationwide. Last year, many people noticed that the disposable plastic straws offered by milk tea shops, fast food restaurants and bakery cafes were replaced with paper straws, degradable poly (lactic acid) straws, and drinkable cup LIDS.

From the perspective of environmental protection and resource utilization, the demand for recyclable plastics has certain potential in the future. Many brands have joined the campaign of recycling, and consumers are voting with their choices. Green recycled materials are becoming everyone's first choice. Including recyclable straws, recyclable meal boxes, recyclable packaging bags and so on.
