New NOM Certification Regulations Have Been Implemeted In Mexico

    Recently, many foreign trade or cross-border e-commerce sellers who worked Mexican market, when their products entered Mexico and faced  customs clearance in Mexico, they often heard that Mexican importers or logistics companies mentioned that the products required NOM certificates.

    Importers who used letters of exemption to apply for NOM verification will now be required to do NOM verification, and goods not used for public sale or for manufacturing processes are now required to do NOM verification.

    The declaration of highly specialized equipment will continue to be implemented, and the customs will check whether such goods are indeed highly specialized equipment under the program. If not, the customs will have the right to reject such goods.

    The customs code needs to be shown on the certificate. The NOM certificate must show the customs code. The NOM certificate that does not show the customs code will not be used for customs clearance For the NOM certificate that has been issued within the validity period, can be submitted to the issuing authority to add the customs code.
