SABIC (China) Has Become The First Chemical Company in The World To Obtain The Certification Of UL2809 Marine Plastic

A few days ago, Underwriter Laboratories Inc (UL), a world-renowned testing, certification and standards development organization, announced that Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), with XENOY™ T2BX2500UV PC/PET blend plastic products manufactured by Nansha Factory in China,  It has become the first chemical enterprise in the world that has passed THE UL2809 environmental impact assessment and obtained the validation of plastic content toward the sea.

For every 1,000 tons of XENOY™ PC/PET modified products containing Marine plastics, 24 million single-use 0.5-liter PET water bottles are salvaged from the ocean, thus protecting the Marine environment.  At the same time, SABIC continues to innovate in the field of technology and products, and has helped more than 100 million waste PET plastic bottles to achieve a "beautiful turn", avoid becoming Marine debris, and are given a "second" life.  

While protecting the Marine environment, the new material can reduce its carbon footprint by up to 7 percent and reduce energy consumption by 11 percent compared to traditional petroleo-based products. Its applications are not limited to consumer electronics such as TV remote controls and electric shavers, but will also play a major role in high-tech industries such as automobiles.
