Ukraine Plans To Ban The Use Of Plastic Bags And Promote Standard Biodegradable Plastic Bags

Accoring reports of “Commerical Capital”, the Ukrainie’s Supreme Councial has announced that it will ban shops from using plastic bags from Januasry 2022. Act No.2051-1 was initiated by 8 representatives of the Servants of the the People. Members of Congress have proposed a total ban on plastic bags less than 50 microns thick in all trading companies( they think that denser plastic bags can be reused.) The country will advocate the free use of biodegradable plastic bags with the correct lable and specific types of plastic bags for transporting fresh meat and fish. The biodegradablility should be in line with national standards that came into effect in early 2019.

In fact, some retailers are not really environmental friendly when they sell the fake eco-frienldy packaging bags. The store actually misled the consumer, which even indrectly encourages them to buy the bags.

Earlier reports show that according to the UN data, about 80 countries have introduced bans on disposable packaging.
