Vietnam Cracks Down On Counterfeit Certificate Of Origin And Made In Vietnam Labels Re-exported To The US Maily Targeting Chinese Companies

    The General Administration of Customs of Vietnam is vigorously guiding the customs department to strengthen the inspection and certification of the certificate of origin of goods, to prevent the foreign goods from “wearing” the label of Made in Vietnam to the European, American and Japanese markets, mainly for illegal export of Chinese products.

    Reuters quoted a statement issued by Vietnam Customs on the 10th that the department had discovered dozens of Chinese products using the " fraud original " and "illegal transshipment" activities during the Sino-US trade dispute to avoid increased products tariffs that US against China.

    The Vietnamese Customs stated that it would crack down such activities and impose heavy penalties.  Bloomberg said on June 10 that Vietnam’s exports to the United States are exploding.

    Just last month, the US Treasury listed Vietnam on the watch list of “currency manipulators.” In other words, Vietnam may have been subject to strict scrutiny by the United States.
